Dear Falkon Academy Parents and Guardians,

We hope this message finds you well. We have several exciting updates to share with you this week:

1) Thank You to Our Valued Volunteers: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort at the Maker Faire. Your contributions are immensely appreciated. Remember, you can claim volunteer hours for your time spent with Falkon Academy.

2) Congratulations to Team Generation Artemis: We’re thrilled to announce that Team Generation Artemis has already secured their spot at the State 2023-2024 VEX IQ competition by winning the Excellence Award at the recent Davis Tournament. What an impressive achievement!

3) Updated Schedule for Competition Teams: Parents, please take note of the updated competition schedules for our VEX IQ, VEX V5 teams and Mini League Recreational Teams. Parents are welcome to attend these events.

For VEX IQ Competition Teams:

  • Nov 5th: Davis
  • Dec 16th: Chico
  • Feb 17th: Folsom

For VEX V5 Competition Teams:

  • Nov 4th: Placer (High School Teams)
  • Nov 5th: Placer (Middle School Team)
  • Dec 9th: Ceres (Central Valley for Middle School and High School Teams)

Mini League Schedule for Recreational Program:

Location: Marina Village Middle School, El Dorado Hills Dates and Times:

  • Friday, Nov 17, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 9:35 PM
  • Friday, Dec 15, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 9:35 PM
  • Friday, Feb 09, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 9:35 PM
  • Friday, Feb 23, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 9:35 PM

4) Important: No Class on October 31st (Halloween Day) at Folsom Middle School: Please be aware that there will be no robotics class at Folsom Middle School on October 31st. But, as of now, we are planning to continue the Robotics Class at Rolling Hills Middle School.

5) Competition Parents’ Orientation (Not Mini League Parents): Competition parents, we invite you to join the class on October 30th from 6:30pm to 7pm for a parent orientation at Marina Village Middle School. This session will provide an overview of competitions and address any questions you may have.

6) Call for Parent Volunteers and High School Student Volunteers: We’re in need of parent volunteers and high school students for the upcoming November 17th Friday League Night from 5 pm to 10 pm. Your assistance is crucial for various tasks such as setup, cleanup, scoring, queuing, game field reset, inspection, check-in, judging, and interviewing. We will provide the necessary coaching.
