At Home Activity:
We had a special weekend class on Engineering Notebook. This class Provided resources on how to document. This is one activity that can be done at home. So please have the kids spend at least 1hr a week on documentation.
There are a lot of online resources and youtube videos on VEX robotics and their games Slapshot or Spinup. Have them research on these at home. This gives them lot of ideas..
We are also considering letting teams take V5 kits home. This may give more time to the kids work at home. Please discuss with your team who will be taking the kits and which location they will be meeting. Who will be responsible for bringing the kits back to school to continue working on it. Please let us know if this would help? and who in your team will host.
Saturday Class Schedule:
Following dates are confirmed for weekend classes. Please note times.
October 29th : (Saturday)
Folsom Middle School : 8:30am to 12:30pm
Marina Village Middle School: 1pm to 5pm
November 5th. : (Saturday)
Folsom Middle School : 8:30am to 12:30noon
Marina Village Middle School: 1pm to 5pm
Competition Schedule:
Below is the updated schedule. The all day programs usually start at 8am to 4pm, without driving time. So for example for Chico being 2hrs from Folsom, we need to be leaving at 6am, and reaching Folsom back at 6pm. So please plan your vacations/activities accordingly.
For league Nights, they are from 5:30pm. to 8:30pm at Roseville. So we leave at 4:30pm and come back at 9:30pm.
Drivers Wanted: For competitions, we need at least one parent per team to drive to the competitions. So plan with your teams who will be driving. Falkon is not coordinating the driving to the competition.
This week, we started scheduling VEX V5 competitions. I am still waiting for more registrations. It will be done in 2nd week of november.
