Week26 Update 2023

Posted By

The season is coming to an end. What a year! The kids have learned so much about robotics. They have spent more than 150hrs in class. They must have spent another 100hrs at home building the robots at home. That’s how many hours we have kept the kids thinking, learning, working, and away from screens.

Besides classroom hours they have also been to 3 competitions. Some of them have won awards. Some did not. But what matters is what they have learned.

There are no more competitions planned.

Saturday Classes

There will be no more Saturday classes. There may be a Robotics open house on a weekend. Kids will showcase their robots to their friends and community. We are working on a schedule for this event.

Team Photographs

Please email any team photographs you may have. We are working on a gift for the kids. Please email it to us before March 1st.

Reduced Class hours

From Feb 27th, the class hours will be reduced to only 2hrs.

Marina Village and Pleasant Grove ends at 4:30pm

Folsom Middle ends at 5:30 pm

Plan for the Month of March

Since the beginning, the teams have been working on building their robots and getting ready for competitions. As we started late, (In September), they were pressed for time. They could not learn other skills, such as programming, autonomous driving, and notebooking.

Next month we are only working on these skills and taking the focus off of building.

Programming: We have introduced Virtual Coding. Kids can individually work on their programming skills at home. The best program will win awards.

Autonomous Driving: Teams are working on programming an Autonomous programming mode for their robot. The team with the most points will win.

Notebooking:  We are working on a non-VEX-related science project to learn the process of innovation and documentation.

After the Season

This class ends in the last week of March.

The next game for next year will be announced at the end of May. So if your kids are interested in the next season, please let us know. We would like to get a head start this year in June.  Any of the teams that are available can start working on their robots.

For the next season, team members can be different. We may have some new kids. If you have friends that would like to join and be part of your team, let us know.

We will be sending more details on the next season in a few weeks.

Facebook page

After the end of the program, we will not be sending as many emails and WhatsApp updates. If you want to stay in touch about future programs, please follow our Facebook page. We are working on more exciting programs that will be launched in the future.  Stay tuned.  Feel free to share this link with your friends and family.
